Seattle Hempfest 2007 is on! The event will take place Sat. August 18-19, 2007, 10am - 8pm, in Myrtle Edwards Park in downtown Seattle on the waterfront, the location of every Hempfest since 1995. 3

To educate the public on the myriad of potential benefits offered by the Cannabis plant, including the medicinal, industrial, agricultural, economic, environmental, and other benefits and applications, including domestic industrial hemp production and commerce. In particular, Seattle Hempfest seeks to advance the cause of Cannabis policy reform through education, while advancing the public image of the Cannabis advocate or enthusiast through example. 2

More than 100,000 people are expected to show their support for ending marijuana prohibition at this year’s annual Seattle Hempfest, taking place this weekend (August 17-18) at Myrtle Edwards Park in downtown Seattle. The two-day event will feature more than 100 speakers, musical acts and DJs on six stages, as well as the world’s largest hemp expo. 6

Hempfest brings together hundreds of performances, speakers, displays, and artwork to educate the public on the benefits of cannabis. Hempfest is August 16-17, 2008 at Myrtle Edwards Park, just north of Pier 70 at the corner of Alaskan Way and Broad Street on beautiful Seattle waterfront Event hours are 10 a.m. Admission to Seattle Hempfest is free. 1

With the slogan “Don’t Just Burn It, Learn It!” this year’s Hempfest had an educational theme, with the “Hemposium” featuring exhibits, panels, and presentations on industrial hemp for food, fiber, and fuel, as well as presentations on medical marijuana and the health benefits of cannabinoids. That’s in addition to the more than 90 speakers who addressed the multitudes over the two-day period. 5

This weekend on the Puget Sound waterfront, Myrtle Edwards Park plays host to America’s largest marijuana law reform event in the 17th annual Seattle Hempfest. The festival, the purpose of which is to educate the public on the many uses and benefits of the cannabis plant, runs from 10 a.m. 4
